Initial ideas

Initially, I came up with a few subjects to make a documentary on. These were followed with the possible questions the film could address and try to answer.

First ideas:
  • History of video game based film
Ideally, I'd try to address how video game related films are funded, the reception the results usually achieve and why reception is usually the same.
Inspirations:
Super mario bros Movie review
Alone In The Dark Review
  •  The cult film, how does one happen?
Fascinating to me is the subject of a film that gains a cult following after it's release. The prime example being Babe: Pig In The City (one of my all time favorite films)
What is the process and lifespan of a cult following film? What perks are there? How easily can potential success fail at the box office?

Tom Waits liked Pig In The City
...and It was Roger Ebert's favourite film of 1998

(I'd use Babe Pig In The City as a base, just as Banksy is used as a base for Exit Through The Gift Shop.)
  • Evolution of the undead archetype
From witchcraft induced corpses to rage induced people. Where's the connection? What classifes as a zombie these days and more importantly, who cares?
  • Films Of Ricky Gervais
One of my favorite actors of all time, not to mention one of my favorite writers. He's had a fascinating and envious career, I'd explore his trademarks, style, subjects, archetypes and impact on the industry (if any)
  • The Batman throughout Film
Batman has had a greater number of differing continuitys and franchises than any super hero to date. Why? How many reboots recreations have their been? Why is the character more successful with the transition to film than other superheros? How has film evolved the Character? Have previous films influenced his very creation?
